Why the two records share one guide

Kunai and Kirin Malefact have separate Monster Index pages because they are distinct enemies with their own names and roles. Their boss encounters are linked, however, so one guide prevents duplicating the same duo-management advice. The first combined fight occurs in Crater Zone and the later rematch takes place in the Capital. Poison is supported for both targets, making steady buildup the foundation of a repeatable plan.

Bring a consistent Poison source, defensive upgrades suitable for the encounter level, and a short melee punish. Hair can improve reach, while a binding or interruption tool helps create a temporary one-on-one situation. The related weapons listed beside this guide are cross-linked records, not a promise that every item drops directly from the fight. Refill ammunition before entering because ranged status pressure is valuable whenever the pair separates.

Create one camera direction

The central rule is to keep Kunai and Kirin on the same side of Emma. Move around the arena perimeter until both appear in a shared field of view. Standing between them allows two attack directions and makes a safe heal nearly impossible. If one opponent moves behind the camera, stop attacking and circle out until both are visible again.

Do not chase a low-health target through the other enemy's attack. Focus whichever opponent is isolated and recovering. Apply Poison at range, use Koo's control to occupy the second threat when available, and take a short punish. Target priority can change from one cycle to the next; maintaining visibility and avoiding overlapping attacks is more important than forcing a fixed kill order.

Safe damage and control

Kirin's larger body can obscure Kunai, while Kunai's human-sized movement can disappear behind effects. Keep enough distance to read both. Higanbana-style roots or another binding command can restrain one target while Emma pressures the other. Issue the command only when the target has stopped or committed, then approach from an angle that keeps the uncontrolled opponent in view.

Poison continues to work while you defend, so avoid spending a long skill merely to maintain momentum. Use Helm Splitter after a confirmed stagger or control window, not in the middle of two active strings. When both opponents are mobile, ranged status application and repositioning are valid progress. Save the longest combination for a down state or the period immediately after one enemy is defeated.

Capital rematch and recovery

The level 49 Capital rematch uses the same principles with less tolerance for mistakes. Arrive with upgraded defenses and enough Poison resources for a longer fight. Preserve healing and FP instead of trying to burst through the opening. If the pair splits, move to the edge and rebuild the shared camera angle before continuing.

Heal only when one target is controlled and the other has just completed an attack, or after distance is visibly established. Never heal with an untracked opponent off-screen. If attempts fail late, shorten every ordinary punish and save one control action for a reset. Pure numerical variants remain on these same records rather than receiving duplicate pages.

When reviewing a failed attempt, ask which enemy was outside the camera at the moment damage arrived. If the answer is often Kunai, stop using Kirin's larger body as a visual anchor and rotate until the human opponent is also visible. If the answer is Kirin, avoid closing on Kunai while the Malefact is moving. Practice surviving with both on one side before trying to optimize the kill order. Poison makes this slower method productive, because buildup continues while Emma is repositioning. The fight is controlled when every heal, skill, and target switch happens with two known enemy positions.
