Rangifer

A towering deer-like Nushi whose antlers and body are overgrown with corrupted vegetation. Rangifer is encountered more than once as Emma crosses Ogouchi and later returns to the species in Matsukawa; the later fight has a different confirmed elemental weakness and therefore remains part of the same page with a separate encounter record.

Recommended strategy

In Ogouchi, prepare Flame damage and stay close enough to read Rangifer's antler and foreleg movements without being trapped directly in front of it. Its charges create the clearest parry opportunities, while attacks that end with the body turned away provide a safer window for Emma's melee follow-up. Use Higanbana: Seeds to maintain pressure and spend Koo's commands after a successful defense rather than while Rangifer is already moving out of range. The second Ogouchi battle adds another phase, so avoid emptying every ranged resource during the opening exchange. In Matsukawa, change the loadout to Lightning instead of carrying the earlier Flame assumption forward. Sakura: Javelin and other ranged options help when the Nushi creates distance. Across all three encounters, the repeatable plan is to defend through the charge, build the down gauge, and commit the longest attacks only when Rangifer is staggered or bound.
