Build for both encounters
Taurus appears twice in the Pilgrim's Zone and both encounters are merged on one Monster Index page. Acid is the supported weakness. Carry Acid Arrows or another dependable Acid source so buildup can continue while the boss is running. The second encounter is much higher level and adds more pressure, so upgrade armor and your preferred sword before treating the first victory as proof that the later fight will be easy.
Higanbana: Roots can restrain Taurus and create a safer melee opening, while Expand Entanglement Gauge makes a successful control window more valuable. Bring healing, refill ammunition, and choose a sword with a short familiar punish. The goal is not to chase every charge. It is to make each completed charge produce Acid buildup or one safe melee response.
Reading the charge
Keep Taurus at middle range with its head and forelegs visible. When it lines up, move laterally across the charge instead of backing down the same path. A direct retreat can keep Emma inside the hit line for longer and may carry the camera toward a wall. After Taurus passes, turn the camera first, then decide whether the recovery is long enough to approach.
Do not sprint behind the boss through the whole arena. Use Acid ranged pressure while it turns and let Taurus come back into your chosen space. The clearest melee opening follows a completed rush or heavy head movement. Attack from the side, use a short string, and leave before the head has fully realigned. If the boss begins a new wind-up, abandon the final hit.
Entanglement and phase pressure
Koo's commands work best after Taurus has finished moving. Place control during the recovery, not at the start of a gallop. Once entangled, close from the flank and use your strongest compact action. A full stagger justifies a longer sequence; ordinary binding does not automatically guarantee enough time for every skill in the loadout.
The later fight increases the importance of resource pacing. Keep some ammunition and FP for the second half rather than exhausting Acid options immediately. Status pressure provides damage while you are waiting for a safe return, so let it work. When effects make the head difficult to read, reset to range and restore the camera before issuing another command.
Fixing common mistakes
Being hit by repeated charges usually means you are fighting along the arena's longest line or chasing into the next turn. Rotate toward open lateral space and make Taurus cross your view. Being struck after melee means the punish is too long; remove the last action. Running out of Acid tools means too many shots were fired while the boss was already leaving their effective line.
Heal after a charge has carried Taurus away, never while it is facing Emma at middle range. For the level 26 encounter, prioritize survival over reproducing an aggressive first-fight routine. The same page covers later numerical scaling, and no extra page is created for a pure stat variant.
Use the first encounter to practice a clean no-chase cycle. Stand in open ground, wait for the head to align, cross the rush, and take only the damage you can finish before Taurus turns. In the later fight, keep the same structure but allocate resources by phase: early Acid buildup should not consume every arrow, and an early stagger should not consume every Koo action. If an attempt ends with unused healing, your problem is likely timing or camera placement; if it ends with no resources and a healthy boss, reduce low-value shots and speculative skills. Consistency matters more than a fast opening.
Check the arena edge before each reset. A correct lateral dodge still fails if it ends against scenery, so rotate back toward the center whenever Taurus is distant.
