Preparation
Corvus is the Drowned Region Nushi fought in Giant Tree Zone. Lightning is the supported weakness, making Fall Thunder or another reliable Lightning source the natural starting point. Bring ranged ammunition because the boss can spend meaningful time outside comfortable sword reach. Improve defense before entering; aerial attacks punish healing and long skill animations more severely than a grounded target does.
Choose one compact melee skill for landing recoveries and keep Koo's control available for moments when Corvus is actually grounded. Do not issue a binding command into an aerial path and hope the boss crosses it. Refill healing and ammunition, then enter with the expectation that camera control and patience matter more than constant contact.
Track the full aerial line
When Corvus rises, pull the camera back enough to keep its body visible and move into open space. Watch the direction of travel before dodging. An early panic dodge can end before the dive reaches Emma, while a direct retreat may remain aligned with the attack. Cross the line late enough to clear it, then turn immediately so the landing recovery is not lost off-screen.
Use Lightning ranged pressure while Corvus is relocating, but stop shooting when the dive begins. Defensive timing takes priority over one more projectile. If branches, roots, or arena geometry block the view, abandon offense and move to a clearer lane. The fight becomes much more predictable when every aerial action is treated as a visible line rather than an effect to evade blindly.
Grounded punish windows
After a completed dive or other committed landing, approach from the side and use a short sword string. Apply Lightning, then reset before the wings and body begin a new movement. Koo's command can extend a true grounded recovery. If it connects, add Helm Splitter or another compact high-damage action; if it misses, do not chase the failed setup.
A full stagger is the best time to spend the longest sequence and build substantial down-state damage. Outside that state, favor consistency. Corvus can leave the ground before a greedy animation finishes, turning what looked like free damage into an off-screen attack. Preserve enough FP for the second half, where reliable control is most useful.
Recovery and healing
Heal only after Corvus has completed a pass and is visibly far away, or while a confirmed control effect holds it. Never open the inventory or healing animation simply because the boss is above the camera. Reacquire the silhouette first. If repeated dives are landing, delay the dodge and move across the path rather than along it.
If damage feels low, verify that Lightning is being applied during safe ranged intervals and that melee begins after, not before, the landing completes. The guide avoids claiming an unsupported unique reward; the Monster Index displays only drops backed by available evidence. New Game Plus stat increases do not change the central plan: see the dive, cross the line, punish the landing, and reset.
A useful practice attempt can focus entirely on flight tracking. Do not spend a long skill; simply identify the takeoff, keep Corvus visible, cross the dive, and turn toward the landing. Once that sequence is reliable, add one Lightning shot during relocation and one melee response after landing. This isolates the dangerous timing instead of hiding it inside an aggressive rotation. If the camera repeatedly catches on scenery, choose a different part of the arena before trying to improve dodge timing. The safest ground is the place where the entire flight path remains visible.
Use audio and effects only as secondary cues. The body position is the dependable signal, especially when overlapping combat sounds make a dive seem earlier than it is.
